Game 113 Preview

Mike Mussina 13-4, 3.46 for the Yanks

vs.

Javy Vazquez 10-6, 5.18 for the Sox

It's the rubber match of the series and Javy's first appearance since his incredible performance. This game is important for the Sox as well as Javy. This game will go a long way to show what we're made of as a team and whether or not Javy is a bust. A lot of people are waiting to form their opinion on Javy after today's game.
It would be nice if we could jump out to an early lead and keep it. I don't want to have to come from behind again.

My pick to click is Crede.

Readers make those picks to click. We had good numbers yesterday!

So true, Jeeves, so very very true.
Just who was that person pitching in Toronto, and just who will be the man on the mound today? Javy "One bad Inning" or Javy "Season High 13Ks"?

And what a big game for many other reasons like taking the series, starting a win streak, not falling further behind in the standings. Arguably this is the biggest game of the year so far the season.

My Pick to Click...Jim Thome (6 hr 15 rbis in 39 career abs against Moose)

I know it's early, but I hear the rumblings of thunder somewhere in the distance. I'm gonna check the forecast to see if there's a rain-out possibility which would suck, by the way. You gotta think, after the last two games that the team is chomping at the bit to get back out there. (Moral victories suck, and there aren't too many instances this late in the season where you earn one, but last night's game still had to have a positive and momentum-adding effect on the team.)

Sadly, I cannot comment on Hawk's spirits last night. Game was televised in glorious HD on ESPN down here in Texas (same deal tonight), but Buck Martinez & his sidekick annoyed me almost as much as Morgan & Miller do, so I watched the game on mute with some background music. Tonight I plan to stream the radio broadcast.

I just don't understand why it's so challenging for the national networks to get decent baseball broadcasters...??
