Game 27 Thoughts

-Wow what a game! If you missed it, you really missed out.

-My pick to click, didn't get the chance to click. Gload hit a solid single and even stole a base, but was taken out. I'm fine with that. Ozzie wanted to move Mack over and put Anderson in center to try and preserve the win with better defense.

-Garcia pitched pretty well. Before his last inning, he only gave up 3 hits and 1 run. In the end he was at 5 hits and 3 runs, which is pretty solid. He still isn't looking like the Freddy of old, but he looked markedly better.

-Gil Meche absolutely shut us down, which was pretty embarassing. He didn't let up anything until the seventh.

-The relief pitching was nearly as good. Thornton didn't do all that well. Politte looked poor. Cotts and Jenks were good though, now that I think about it.

-I have to give props to Oz for the moves he made in the field. He made the right call about putting Anderson in for defense. He made an outstanding diving grab to preserve the game. If he didn't make that catch we lose in regulation.

-Pablo was a brilliant move. First he hit that solo shot with two out in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extras. Then he hustled his ass off on what should have been a single and turned it into a double. If you missed the play it was a chopper up the middle that died when it started rolling on the grass. The fielders didn't sprint to the ball so Pablo turned the corner and sprinted. He hustled and scored on Juan's bloop single.

-I hope Brian will have more confidence after this game. He had some great grabs, and he took a good walk in a important situation. His walk may not have led to anything, but it was still a good walk.

-Crede's slam saved the game for the Sox. We had absolutely nothing going until then. It was weird, because as he came up the feeling of the game changed. It felt like it did after AJ got on base on the famous dropped third strike, it felt like Crede was going to come through in the clutch and he did. He hit the first slam of the season for the Sox.

-Juan had another spectacularly bad game. He did nothing at the plate outside of that lucky bloop single. I hope he can get some momentum going off of that hit though.

-Iguchi's fielding has been a bit shaky. He made a crucial error today. He's actually been really hot and cold in the field. He makes great plays like his falling throw, but then he botches a pretty basic grounder. I don't know what to make of it.

-This is the type of game that can kick off a solid winning streak. So hopefully we can put some space between us and the Tigers

-Congrats to Pablo, his homer today was the first of his career.

Sox Player of the Game

I'm not trying to make this an everyday thing, but I have to go with co-players again.
