Game 134 Preview
Jose Contreras 11-6, 4.25 for the Good Guys
vs.
Runelvys Hernandez 4-8, 6.67 for the Royales with Cheese
Sox should win. Sox better win. If the Sox lose, I will go insane, 'nuff said.
The Sox need to sweep this series to reach my goal of 5-1 during this 6 game stretch.
My pick to click is AJ.
Let's see some good picks and some good banter in the comments section.

I'm gonna take Paulie today
Taking Joe, he crushes in KC.
Good banter, good banter, good banter.
I'll take Iguchi
Welcome aboard to the 4 newest members of the ChiSox, Charlie Haegar, Boone Logan, Chris Stewart, and Ryan Sweeney. I'll post something about these guys along with my thoughts entering September after the game.
Don't forget Jerry Owens who was called up a week ago and promptly but on the DL so he'll be available for the playoffs.
For anyone that is interested, I have setup a chat on my blog to talk about the game as it happens.
Feel free to join me; sports.dtkelly.net
Thanks.
fornelli = funny
Just in time to see the MVP, himself
Hawk and DJ: the voices of god (that was funny, the echoes -- maybe they're channelling Notre Dame: the greatest football team ever.)
fornelli is a funny guy, and he bring's some good banter to the plate
the audio is ahead of the video and you can hear the crack of the bat and the ball hit the mitt before you see it
very awkward
and sorry bout the pun, I couldn't resist
what time is tomorrow's game?
It is really awkward, hopefully they can fix it.
6 10 tomorrow, and 1 10 on sunday
aaarrrggghhhhh!
and Buehrle pitches tomorrow
gonna have to tape the Notre Dame game
Everytime we play the Royals, it makes me think of Royales w/ cheese and it makes me want to watch Pulp Fiction
Are you an alum?
one of the few movies I actually own
nope, just a huge huge huge fan
check out RakesofMallow.com
an SBNation site
I wonder if we'll ever get grudz out for the rest of the year.
I was turned into a Michigan football fan when I was young and impressionable. I had two uncles from there and didn't know a lick about the college game so I followed them by default...but now I'm a Bruin!
And I got to see Zbikowski in action at high school, he was a pretty damn good QB.
Grudz-alotta-vowels and Sweeney own us.
Muck Fichigan!
UCLA Bruin?
And you went to school with Zbis?
a walking Sweeney is a lot nicer than a hitting Sweeney
Indeed UCLA Bruin, no matter what I do, it seems like ND is destined to be my rival.
Zibs went to the next school over, but I got to see him play a few times, including his last high school game when he had to leave after playing with a concussion
If we bruised one of Sweeney's fingers, maybe he won't be able to do as much damage
More than any other team on earth, more than the Detroit Pistons and Redwings, more than the Twinkies, more than the Packers, I hate with fire of a thousand suns the Michigan Wolverines.
haha, I don't doubt that at all. It's one of the fiercest American rivalries
But before you scorn me, keep in mind had my uncles been ND fans, I'd be a ND fan.
my hate is based upon a not-so-friendly rivalry bewtween friends
my friends and I are split down the middle exactly when it comes to UM vs ND, so things would get violent during the games especially if alcohol (always) and dive drills (almost always) were involved
as a little kid, I liked UCLA (really little tyke)
beer and football, an American classic
well I guess really beer and any sport
jose is gonna keep us on the edge of our seats all game, isn't he?
beer and ice dancing: not so much
of course I'd have to be drinking a lot of beer to try ice dancing, so maybe
Yes, as will Mack in center
that would be very painful, beer and ice dancing
Of the five tools, Gathright has speed, and that's about it right now. So, no hits here Jose
the Mack thing is a given
funny thing about Mack (as long as we're talking about athletes we've seen/known)...he is a tightly wound MFer
he's from one town over and I remember running into him once in awhile at the same watering holes, and he was a mean drunk
MEAT at second. That's a pleasant surprise.
When was the last time we saw that?
Did you say anything to him when you saw him?
about 6-7 years ago, he happened to come into the bar I hangout at and I remember him getting all red-assed about something and he flew off the handle and I mean flew off...he's got that mean look to him where is scowl is enough to scare a lot of guys off messing with him...I just thought he was overdoing it a tad, but someone who really knows him said he's always like that
I used to see him all the time back in the day, before he was a pro...played hoops against him at the parks around the area
matter of fact, I was a little torn when I heard about thew trade, cuz I thought he was a hothead
I guess liquor isn't good for ALL people
yeah, nice gundown by AJ, and I thought he took an extra second to get rid of the ball too, kind of a long release
Did he know you by name?
are you a bruin alum?
I was hoping to keep a lid on my age, but oh well...I'm a student.
no, but he would remember my face, cuz his circle of HS friends hung around the same places mine did and subsequently when we hit bar age the same thing happened...there was a very specific bar crawl/routine for us back in the day and everyone on the SW side did it
the student part i figured, HS or college is the real question! :-P
gotcha, it's a shame he wasn't a more likeable guy (at least when he was drinking), it's always fun to root for someone you know. I pull hard for Zib when he's not playing Michigan.
WE GOT GRUDZ OUT!!!!
Now if we get Sweeney out, when he's up, I think we may be destined for good things.
Not trying to pry, but if you're a bruin, shouldn't you be in LA right now?
Nuts, I didn't want to see Sweeney this inning.
Sweeney/Teahan: all the same.
haha, not yet, school doesn't start til the 28th
I don't know why, but my school starts extraordinarily late
hits, hits, we need hits
there's one from the MVP
time for thome to pick it up
you're gonna miss the playoffs at home, that sucks!
Yeah I know and I have to get MLB tv on my comp for a couple of weeks so I can see the end of the season.
I won't feel good about Jimbo until I see him launch a moon shot. He hasn't gotten GOOD wood on pitch very much lately.
I'm surprised Thome is even playing. I thought he would get more time off with that bum hammy.
I am too, especially with the call ups
here's another guy that needs to break out
I wouldn't mind Sweeney in left tomorrow with a full complement of starters.
Yah, Paulie is really scuffling
If Sweeney's in LF, and anyone BUT BA is in CF, I'm gonna blow a gasket
I would actually really like to see Sweeney in left tomorrow with BA in center.
I'm really curious to see what he could do for us up here.
ugh, the dreaded lead off walk
BA would have gunned him down...assuming he would have even ran on BA.
I'm getting in an increasingly foul mood. Please pitch over the error, Jose
shoot me now. 3 errors in an inning.
3 plays, 3 errors, now that I think about it.
thank you Joey Gathright for not being able to swng a good bat
We need the offense today, but they're MIA
If we had BA and Uribe in, we wouldn't be in such a shitty position.
BA makes the throw to third, and Uribe doesn't misplay the grounder to short. That's two outs right there.
JOE crede. Too bad it wasn't an 8-run homer, but one is better than none
Good start.. they need to keep it going.
Very painful indeed.
Did you have any trouble commenting Count?
AJ + men on base = poop
Things are looking so bad for us, I"m actually pumped to see Boone!
I'm depressed, time to find the ice cream
...but seriosuly, i'm going to go make myself some food. I'll be back when I'm done
Bags juiced.
Oh please JOE Clutch! Please come through.
Alrite Gload! A Grannie gives us the lead.
That inning was one big tease
Walk for GOoch is a start
oh baby, we've got a little something cooking for our struggling sluggers
Oh baby, a second go at it for Joe Clutch!
BIg tease, for the second straight inning.
