Game 133 Preview: Sweep Dreams

Javy "one-reason-for-James'-defibrilator" Vazquez (R, 11-8, 5.06) for the Homeboys
vs.
Jason Hammel (R, 0-2, 7.71) for the Satanic Flat-fish

Anything less than a sweep today would be a disappointment. Anything less than one shock with the new defibrilator would be a surprise. Anything more than 5 innings outta Javy would be cause to use said defibrilator on Ozzie's testicles. Come on, boys. Give Jeeves a reason to break out the broom pic!

1:05 PM start today!

Pick to Click...gonna go with Joe Crede today.
DickdaStick, who is at the game today, is going with....Paul Konerko.

Readers add your Picks to Click to the comments. Thanks!

Long live The Emperor! Let's see if I can catch lightning in a bottle again with Gooch.

We better sweep this series because I'm scared of the Royales. They really seem to beat up on the wild card hopefuls. They swept the BoSox, split a four game set with us and are going for the sweep today against the Twinkies. I guess they're like Freddy, they don't play hard unless the playoffs are on the line...for the other team.

We may have a crisis on our hands. Jimbo's landlord is forcing the bar to vacate when its lease expires on 9/30. I do my pre- or post-game meals in china town usually, but forcing out Jimbo's strikes me as the kind of thing that requires a lot of years of karmic payback. I don't want to be wheeled into South Side Park in 2093 to see my next World Series game. Any idea how to avert this disaster?

Blogger Cranky Peanut said...

I just read about Jimbo's on the Tribune web site. Not cool.

8/31/2006 11:05 AM
Blogger Jeeves said...

Definitely not cool. I think it's time Sox fan's started a Save Jimbo's Fund, that's the only way we could do anything to try and save it. If this site had enough sway, I'd start up a paypal account, but I guess I'll leave that for The Cheat to take care of.

I'm not sure it's the money that's the issue with Jimbo's. Sounds like the building owner is just a dick. Hopefully this gets rectified soon! I'll stop by today after the game & see if I can't get an answer or two.

Still on my PtC hiatus, seems to be working out pretty well for the sox.

Santana pitching for the Twins, Bonderman for the Tigs, Johnson for the Yanks. Let's get a win today and let the rest play out as it will. We're almost to the point where we control our own destiny for HFA throughout the playoffs. Let's GITTERDUNN!

The big surprise isn't Ozzie starting Pods again, it's that BA is in the lineup today considering a righty throwing and the beanball he took last night.

8/31/2006 2:11 PM
Blogger jamesmnordbergjr said...

yeah, and I heard on talk radio this morning that with pods-gooch-thome lineup, teams were leaving their lefty relievers in to get to thome, not that easy with JD in the 3 hole

what does that have to do with paulie batting 5th, nothing

8/31/2006 2:14 PM
Blogger jamesmnordbergjr said...

so our infielders are suddenly taking defensive lessons from the d-rays

javy gotta pitch over this
