The Buehrle Bile File: "I'm a Little Miffed": Game 135 Preview

Mark Buehrle (L, 11-11, 4.71) for the White Sox
vs
Odalis Perez (L, 5-6, 6.43) for Vinny Vega's favorite French cuisine
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The Buehrle Bile File says...

Which Mark Buehrle will show up tomorrow?

2-1, 3.38 last 3 starts ------ or ------ 0-6, 8.93 8 starts before that

Anyways, the Buehrle Bile File has a complaint, actually, multiple complaints.
  1. This whole playing down to the competition (TB, KC) thing is killing me.
  2. Blogger, for some damn reason, had locked me out of commenting. I could see comments, I could submit posts, but I couldn't be a part of the good banter, good banter, good banter. WTF!!!!
  3. The Jeckyl & Hyde job Mark Buehrle is pulling on us White Sox fans.
Pick to Clicks...Joe Crede, yes -- Blogger, no!
And Mark, I'd pitch well tonight if I were you, cuz The Biler is pissed!

Drop your own PtCs in the comments section cuz, unlike myself, y'all can! Maybe I'll see yah there, maybe I won't. (Update: okay, I'm back and able to comment again, but I'm still pissed about the lockout and I can't quite figure out why it happened. If anyone has any reasonable idea as to why I might have been locked out, drop a note in the comments for me.)

I'm so funny I got mentioned on Deadspins Hugh Johnson Project. I forgot to submit this one though, the Vandy player who blocked the FG was named Goth.

"After blocking the Michigan FG, Vandy's Goth chose not to celebrate, but returned to the sidelines where he questioned the existence of God and then began cutting himself."

Dammit.

This won't sound positive (cuz I'm following Jeeves' non-negative vibe from last yesterday's recap), but Paulie's body language is just plain bad. Every weak grounder he hits, his shoulders slump, his head drops, his eyes roll...and more than anyone else on the White Sox, if Paulie gets down on himself, it can be a prolonged slump.

Buehrle AGAIN gives up a 1st inning run, but get the GIDP to end the threat.

His control isn't the best, but then again Grudz, Teahan and Sweeney did the damage, so go figure.

An early deficit again...1-0

One of Mark's big problems this year has been his inability to jam the righties. His cutter hasn't cut in enough, so the righties will look middle out and swing away.

So far tonight, mixed results.

Ah, Joey Clutch, my PtC!

JD is having an off night and we needed a big hit from someone else.In steps Crede with the 2-out, 2-rbi hit! The Sox now have 4 guys with 90 or more rbis.

Mark has pitched outta some jams again tonight. He has two inning ending DP in 3 innings so far. Getting gritty perhaps. And as I type, he just threw his 3rd DP ball. He needs all the help he can get.

A lead-off walk is nicely pitched over by Mark, including actually having Grudz hit the ball AT someone.

Buehrle is the victim of a non-play by BA on a deep fly ball to the wall, and he can't pitch over it with no outs and men on 2nd & 3rd. He limits the damage to 2 runs, but KC takes the lead. He did give up 3 hard hit balls, and I'm surprised the one BA misplayed wasn't a HR, cuz Sweeney crushed it,

Gi-nor-mas break for the White Sox. CF for the KC loses an easy fly-ball of the bat in the twilight, and Sox plate the lead run in the 7th.

Buehrle is done for the night as he pitched 6.0 innings and gave up 3 earned runs, and he left with a 4-3 lead. Quality start, yes, could have been better, yes, did he get a little unlucky, yes, did he get hit hard, yes.

Mikey McD in.

Top of the 8th and the Sox are getting some AFLAC. albeit in small incriments...get this, back-to-back doubles followed by a single have plated 1 run -- and there are no outs!!! You try to figure it out.

Eh, a little disappointed in Ross Gload. JD had the golden sombrero going into his last at bat but he also had a 12 game hit streak that Gload didn't give him a chance to extend by running into a caught stealing.

I guess stats are meaningless in close games, but it woulda been nice for JD to get a chance to swing there.

Bottom 9...Jenks in. Sox lead 5-3.

Sox win! Jenks was nasty. 3 Ks to end it.
The Buehrle Bile File is on the way.
