Mine will be Scotty Pods.

Any guesses on which Sox will be on the All-Star Roster? It's going to be extremely difficult, what with almost the entire starting lineup being from two teams, neither of which is defending champs, and with three guys in the hunt for the MVP on your team. Not to mention among the best 3B and closers in the league. Plus there's Buehrle and the Count. Hell, arguments could be made for AJ and Iguchi at their positions.

I'm going with five Sox - Thome, Dye, Konerko, Contreras, and Jenks. Crede is the odd man out.

Okay, I gotta admit, I was looking at the matchups for my pick to click.

Some numbers to note:

vs. Zambrano

Joe Crede: 1-18, 6K...yikes, Joe might have a day off

Rob Mackowiak: 10-28, HR, 4 2B, 4 RBIs, 6 BB...I assure you, BA gets the day off

Paul Konerko: 6-14, 3HR, 5 RBIs, O Ks!!!...I see why Thome got the start on Saturday

Juan Uribe: 1-13, 4 Ks...if Pablo wasn't hurt, I'd guess it was him and Cintron in one of Ozzie's patented, "I don't care" line-ups

With all that said, and the obviously good numbers he's put up against Zambrano, my Pick to Click is Paul Konerko

I say no pitchers for PtC. But since we didn't decide before gametime, I think Dick should be able to have his original pick of Buerhrle stand. Heh.

As for Gooch, Pods & Mack, if he counts, each had two hits, one for extra bases, and Gooch & Mack added walks. I guess I'd have to say Iguchi?

WRT the ASG, I think we all can agree that Crede was probably the big loser, and Mark was the lucky winner. But other than a couple of innings (one in a game he won), he's been pretty golden all year. And as someone who believes that the second half of last year should count for at least 25% of the considerations, I have no problem picking Mark over some rookie Twin or Tiger.

Hopefully this little craziness doesn't distract our guys from what they have to do. Freddy, Jose & John need to go out & have dominant performances against the OrangeBirds. Our O has to get back to basics.

I'll pick Brian Anderson to click today.
