Jake Woods 5-3, 4.19 for the Mariners

Javier Vazquez 11-9, 4.70 for the ChiSox
I know, it doesn't seem like there's any reason to watch the games now that the Sox have all been but eliminated from the post-season, but there are still some storylines to watch...
-Will the youngsters play?
-Who takes advantage of this open audition to position themselves for next year? I'm looking in your direction Freddy.
-Who raises their trade value?
-Do the Sox completely flop after a deflation loss or do they fight on?
-Will we ruin the Twins' shot at the divison crown?
So for tonight's game, I'm curious to see which of our young guns are going to play. I would like to see Fields at third (with Crede on the bench or the DL), BA in CF (with Mack on the bench), Sweeney in LF (with Pods in the National League), and Gload at 1b. I wouldn't mind seeing Stewart in there, because he's such an unknown commodity, and when we go to the pen I'd like to see Boone and Tracey get some action.
Tonight will also be interesting to see how Javy pitches. Will he continue on the path toward respectablity or will he return to his infuriating ways?
My pick to click will be made closer to game time, once I know the lineups.

DT is going with SouthPaw, but I'm unsure whether that's Thome, AJ, or Pods.

FYI...Southpaw is the big, furry fox/wolf/Goofy-inspired mascot the Sox organization parades around the Cell as kiddie entertainment.
And I'm holding off on my PtC until gametime, cuz who knows what the lineup will look like tonight.
BTW, I got some linseed oil if anyone is interested, and some Geritol if Dickie is interested? (jk)

i was looking at some stats today in the paper, and it had Santana listed at 18-5 and Garland at 17-5; imagine Johan on our team. He would have an insane record.

Thru two innings Javy's looked better to the lefties tonight, with alot of movement on his inside fastballs to the lefties.

Today's game felt oddly fitting.
I'm sorry, I wasn't able to give you a better send off. I had company until a minute ago, good luck on the trip. Travel safely, and we'll talk to you around Sunday sometime. I'll keep things up to date until you get settled in. And let me say, it has been a fun year here at chi-sox blog, despite the lousy outcome.
