Game 151 Preview

Justin Verlander 16-8, 3.42 for the Motor City Kitties

vs.

Freddy Garcia 14-9, 4.82 for the Good Guys who're playing like Bad Guys

The Sox have hit Verlander about .100 higher than the rest of the AL, so hopefully that continues.
Freddy Garcia nearly pitched a perfect game last time around, so hopefully he'll repeat his performance.
The Sox have shown very little fire, so hopefully after getting destroyed yesterday they'll show some desire.

As you can tell, expectations aren't high, but I still have hope.

My pick to click is Crede

This is kinda sad...except for Dye, we never can be sure who's starting at what spot.

I'll take our first baseman.

You know what batting order I'd like to see sometime?

CF: Anderson
LF: Gload
1B: Konerko
DH: Thome
RF: Dye
3B: Crede
2B: Iguchi
C: Pierzynski
SS: Uribe

Anderson it a spark plug more than anything. Gload is a solid contact guy. I think Konerko is more built for the 3 hole, and Thome is a cleanup guy than vice versa. I don't want to put Dye in the 3 or 4 spots, I can't really explain, but I think he'll execute better at #5. The rest is just the best way I can arrange the rest of our lineup.

It's not as L/R balanced, but I think it completely revamps the top two, and should hopefully give a new focus to 3/4/5.

Did Blogger send you something about Fleece & Flog? I thought I could just add you to it, but I guess you have to accept the invite? I don't recall it being that way on this blog.

so, can the sox run the table? or is this just another one of their patented hi-run games to be followed by a game where they hit bupkus?

9/19/2006 9:35 PM
Blogger Jeeves said...

The Sox fan in me says they can run the table.
The pessimist in me says look for bupkus tomorrow, especially considering the Twins won today.
