Game 62 Preview

Jake Westbrook 5-3, 5.04 for the Tribe

vs.

Freddy Garcia 7-3, 4.56 for the Chi-Sox

The Sox are in position for yet another sweep. That broom pic is getting awfully dusty.

What, no player of the game? Hello, BA had a three-run home run that put the Sox within one swing of the bat of tying the game! And that's the game you choose not to name a POTG?

I think I had him pegged as PotG, but the work I had saved for that game got lost. Like I said above Blogger has been giving me a lot of trouble. Normally you can save posts as drafts and post them whenever you like, but when I clicked on the save draft button, the page wouldn't load and when I went back my writing was gone. I was too discouraged at that point to retype everything, so unfortunately we have a blank space for Game 62.

Okay, but if Brian gets shipped down or traded because of a dearth of PotG wins, we'll know who to blame!

Moreover, I am at a loss as to why someone who won his fifteenth straight decision, never gave the opposition a hint that it might be a close game, struck out a career-high 11 batters, will be the likely All-Star Starter, and put himself into the lead in the Cy Young Award race ... misses out on PotG in favor of a two-hit game with one run scored out of the leadoff position. Please explain!

I only wish my blog had that much power, but I actually bumped up BA one in the PotG standings.

Y'know what Jonathon, I think I took Contreras' performance for granted. Even though I watched the game, I didn't really think beyond the 3 runs given up. And also I guess I was looking to reward the offense for putting up 8 runs, but you've pushed me off the fence. Jose deserves at least co-PotG honors, so I'll go ahead and fix that.
I'll try and make a more conscious effort to examine my PotG's in the future.

thanks, Jeeves! Looks like Uribe is the one who needs to click tonight, in order to catch up now.
