Contreras on the DL

Jose Contreras has finally been put on the DL (retroactive to May 5th). Ths Sox finally posted a report about the situation. It seems that this is more of a precautionary move than anything else. I read in the Daily Herald that Contreras probably could have pitched today, but in the long run it's better if they ensure that he's healthy for the stretch run. Jose should be completey fine for his start against the Cubs.

For the most part the Sox have been pretty forthcoming and honest when it comes to injuries, so I don't have any reason to doubt this report.
