Game 71 Preview
Jason Marquis 9-4, 4.55 for the RedBirds
vs.
Mark Buehrle 7-4, 3.13 for the ChiSox
Yes, yes, Buehrle is from St. Louis and there has been talk that he will sign with them later, but all that matters now is that we win today.

I'm glad to see that my return to Chicago didn't mark the end of the Sox winning streak, but instead inspired them to welcome me home with 20 runs!
Question to the readers...
Do y'all find the scoring summaries useful/helpful, or should I do away with them?
(And don't worry you won't hurt my feelings if you don't think they're needed)
scoring summaries I can get anywhere, i come here for analysis and, of course, PotGs!
I gotta imagine that the summaries take a whole lotta time to type up, and we can get that from any yahoo/espn/cbs etc. site from someone getting paid to type it up. Of course this is a labor of love for you I'm sure, and maybe you like doing it. In truth though, I normally brush past the scoring summaries and go straight to the game thoughts and of course the PtC and PotG and Big Ups!
All right, so here's the new format for the site. I'm dumping the game summaries. I did play by play for opening night, and then I just stuck with a scoring summary since then, I don't know why exactly. So I'll attach my pick to click (and yes I'm going to start doing that consistently now that I'm back and caught up on life) and the starting lineups to the Preview Post and just stick with my thoughts.
Since I'm changing the format of the site...what would y'all prefer from my thoughts, bullet points as I'm doing now or more of a fluid piece about the game as a whole? So essentially a more fluid piece would be greater emphasis on fewer occurences during the game, but overall a better written post or what I'm doing now, touching upon most occurences during the game and getting in depth with some of them.
Personally I like reading the bullet point approach; I guess it lends itself to my generation's perceived A.D.D.-like personality -- the quick blurb, highlight show style of reading. But I think in a game like baseball, there is such minutae to cover that bullet points work really well for a recap.
We all feel a subconscious thrill at seeing our writing before us, and hence maybe we feel we'll become the next great Ring Lardner or Studs Terkel if only one piece of writing gets noticed, but for needs sake (and I don't think they've created a Pulitzer for blogs yet), IMHO, bullets work best.
Sox Lineup
Podsednik - LF

Konerko - 1B

Uribe - SS
I like the bullets. Glad to see you back keep up the good work jeeves!
